There is something about this simple and sophisticated illustration by Australian shop My Girl Charlie. It is a lot different from things I am usually drawn to. I love the contrast between the line drawing at the bottom and the deep shaded charcoal style drawing at the top. I also love the white space present in this print coupled with the soft colors on the face.  

I have been a fan of the work of the Chicago Etsy shop essimar for over a year.  The color combos are crazy good and the shop brings such a unique and inspiring vision to stationary. The cards come in a variety of mediums from screen print to collage. Take a look at some of my favorites below.

I am in the middle of helping my cousin design her wedding invitations. They will also be my first project on my letterpress, which I am very excited to use! I’ve got stationary and color combos on the mind. Check out these cute and simple cards from Invita Paper Studio that i ran across this week. I LOVE the gray and yellow together. The simple type treatment layered over the pattern is also great!   

Sorry for the lull in posts recently. This past week I started a new job that has been keeping me pretty busy. The job has been great because I no longer have to do the evil commute across the water. I am happily working close to home and downtown. I found this Downtown Bag from Pesky Cat Designs a couple of weeks ago. I love the construction and the size of the bag. It is a perfect fit for work and play. I also love the soft blue and yellow.

I love the variety of colors, patterns and prints on the jewelry in the shop laurenelgee. Her pieces are graphic and have a vintage quality. The front and back of her earrings each have unique look, giving someone who may be sitting behind you than to the person facing you. I love that element of surprise.

Showpony has been around putting out great items since November 2006. They have been featured on numerous blogs and favored tons of times. Just in case someone still hasn’t seen the beautifully clever bags or dish towel I am posting them today. Because they definitely belongs on an etsy-love blog…enjoy!

This weekend we decided to do a design update of our kitchen. We’ve starting painting and picked out a dining table we’re going to get. We have these great vintage orange chairs in the dining area and I have been hunting through Etsy to find the perfect print to go with them. Here is one I stumbled upon that is in the running. It is made by Ohio shop Tealtown. They are a husband and wife Etsy team. They screenprint t-shirts as well as making cute pie prints. Check out  their shop to see more of their work!

It seems like I always find cool clothes coming out of Portland, OR. Here is another. It’s a great grey jacket from the shop a broken spoke. The jacket is new for Spring. It is made of organic cotton canvas and fully lined with a green plaid cotton shirting. I love the pockets, buttons and the way that it fits. I would love to see this coat in person.

Bobby Urban claims in its profile that, “this shop is the funk itself. One look and you’ll be hooked!” I’d say I have to agree. I love the stenciled blue T’s and tank tops. I super-love the colors in this capsule shaped purse by Barcelona shop Mia Accessories. I love the geometric quality and the smaller details of the dark grey and green metal eyelets. I usually wear solid colors and use accessories to provide the pattern and color. This purse would be perfect for that purpose. There are also other color combos available in the shop, check em out!
