Lions, Tigers and Bears. Oh my.

I love these quirky illustrations from London illustrator Julia Pott. Her work features some of my favorite things, bears, handwritten words and awesome color combinations. Here are a couple of my favorite pieces.

Etsy in the movie Twilight!

I did not see Twilight in the theater. I have yet to read the books. I only knew about this from my friend Sarah who kept telling me, “I think one of your friend Angie’s bags is in the movie Twilight. Bella Swan uses it through out the movie.” FINALLY, finally Angie got a chance to see the movie this week. Her bag is in the movie!! The bag was made for the Etsy shop of The Crafty Devils which is the shop that Angie and I started in 2007. It was one of the few pieces which reflected both of our work. The bag design is hers and I did the feather illustration. The Twilight bag can now be found in her new shop Stitch and Swash. Stop by and check out the bag and all of her other great work!

Groundwork

Danna Ray, the illustrator behind Groundwork grew up in a log cabin in the woods of rural South Carolina. I love the angles, colors, simplicity and softness in each piece. It was so hard to narrow down which pieces to feature here, but here are a few of my favorites.

I wish my doodles would turn into these

I love the style of these pieces by St. Louis artist Sarah Giannobile. Each piece looks like it started out as a doodle and transformed into something amazing.

Doubt - Sometimes - I just want to Scream

I love these moody yarn pieces from Brooklyn artist Joetta.
I also love how they are displayed by pushpin.
She has a larger collection that includes friendlier pieces, but I like the sassier ones the best.
