I saw one of these heavenly handmade items on etsy’s front page just now and had to give them a mention. They are the creation of Virgina artist Kristen K Swanson. Her creations are handmade wheel thrown and hand built pottery out of porcelain clay. She paints her designs with black underglaze on the unfired clay then uses a technique called sgraffito to scratch into the surface to achieve greater detail. The results are absolutely amazing. Her shop bio says there is more to come and I look forward to seeing it!
